Clearing operations continued; more weapons found

Sri Lanka Army troops continued their clearing operations uncovered more LTTE military hardware from Vavuniya ,Kilinochchi and Mullaittivu districts yesterday (31 January), military sources said.

During yesterday's operations (31 January), troops of 61 division found 03 x Anti Personnel (AP) mines from the general area Sinnapandivirichchan in Vavuniya district.

Separately, a hand grenade was uncovered by the troops of 57 division during a clearing operation conducted in Visuamadu area and Troops of 66 Division recovered 02 x hand grenades during a search operation conducted at general area Uruthirapuram in Kilinochchi district, military report added.
