Dialog delivers first hspa+ 28.8mbps customer experience at future world
Sri Lanka's flagship telecom service provider, Dialog Telekom, announced the advancing of its HSPA+ testing programme to the exposition of a live customer experience at its Future World service centre.
Leading the region in supporting the latest edition of HSPA+, Dialog's mobile broadband network was recently upgraded to support downlink speeds of up to 28.8 Mbps. During the initial phase, Dialog Mobile users visiting The Dialog Future World in Darley Road, Colombo can experience unparalleled data surfing in addition to uplink speeds of 5.76 Mbps. Full commercial availability of the technology would follow the availability of customer devices supporting HSPA+ data speeds.
Dialog's HSPA+ infrastructure is based on Multiple-Input and Multiple-Output (MIMO) technology, which offers significant increases in data throughput and link range without consuming additional bandwidth or transmit power. In April this year, Dialog Telekom became the first telco in the country to deploy a HSPA+ (Evolved High-Speed Packet Access), service on commercial basis with consumers in Mount Lavinia, Kotte, Battaramulla, Wellawatta and Moratuwa areas enjoying downlink speeds of up to 21 Mbps. Dialog's latest initiative to elevate broadband speeds to 28.8 Mbps further demonstrates the company's unremitting commitment to bring the very best in technology to Sri Lankan consumers.

HSPA+ offer customers faster response and less latency for media-rich applications, including high-definition video streaming, web surfing and other next-generation wireless applications with high bandwidth requirements. Dialog will expand its 28.8 Mbps HSPA+ network across its 3.5G network spanning Colombo, Kandy, Galle, Kurunegala, Anuradhapura, Nuwara Eliya, Trincomalee and other major towns in Sri Lanka. Dialog operates the largest and widest 3G/3.5G network in the country, offering high-speed internet access and a host of other 3G services to customers.
